A few weeks ago I was asked to answer a few questions about how I’d spend my time should the end of the world be just around the corner, as some falsely interpret the Mayan Calendar. No, the world won’t end this December, but I can’t deny that it’s a notion that will always make me think.
I’ve always said that I try not to create travel goals because my personality will push me to pursue those goals to a point where they become pressure, and when not achieved, disappointment. Instead of looking back on my life, wishing I went to that one last place, I want to look back and know that I made a concerted effort to see more, to learn by experiencing and by doing, to not lean on what’s easy or comfortable, and to break out of my comfort zone whenever possible.
But I wasn’t just asked where I’d go if I only had a year, I was also asked how I’d spend my time and who I’d spend it with. Without any struggle the answer was always with my family and friends – no matter where.
For fun, here’s a look at what me and other travel enthusiasts would do…
The 2012 Bucket List was created by First Choice – The Home of All Inclusiv
So, what would you do if you only had a year?

That graphic is fascinating, and I found myself agreeing with quite a few things on there, as far as placed. I’d want to travel as MUCH as possible, and like you, I’m weary to set goals for travel because I’ll push myself to pursue all the travel goals ASAP.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Erin! Great minds think alike
I just stared at that doc for the past 15 minutes.. loved it!
Travel would be my top choice for sure.. that and to visit a taping of watch what happens live
I know, there’s so much stuff in there. Haha, of course.
India, I would definitely go to India. Outside my comfort zone, but I know it would be amazing. Awesome post, definitely something to think about!
Thanks, Marki!
I loved that Argentina was on the list! If I had one year I’d somehow make it to Antarctica.
Good one!! I didn’t even put that one when I participated in this, but now that you mention it
amazing graphic!
i would enjoy it with my friends and family and just try to really experience every day and travel as much as possible. i would make it to all the national parks i’ve wanted to go to and also see the pyramids!
Totally agree, and to combine friends, family and travel. Ideal.
