I’m participating in Classy in Philadelphia’s Where In The World Wednesday! The idea of WITWW is to post a picture of you someplace in the world…it doesn’t have to be somewhere foreign or tropical. Just a picture of you somewhere you consider traveling.

Sometimes when you travel and there is an endless list of churches and museums to be seen, at some point they can all start to meld together, and what was once meant to be an experience packed with history or culture or science, becomes monotonous.

Where I am this Wednesday, that was not the case. Maybe it’s my love of the ocean or my fascination with whales, but this place will forever stand out in my memory. That’s me and a gray whale at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum on the harbor. Don’t worry, he’s not real.

I think I loved it so much because of the location – it was right on the pier on the Santa Barbara Harbor. If you could look out that window behind me, you’d see water below.
