I’m participating in Classy in Philadelphia’s Where In The World Wednesday! The idea of WITWW is to post a picture of you someplace in the world…it doesn’t have to be somewhere foreign or tropical. Just a picture of you somewhere you consider traveling.
I recently signed up for The Travel Experta‘s new newsletter because she knows everything about Costa Rica and why wouldn’t I want constant updates? Yesterday she talked about Arenal as one of the best places to see a volcano, hike the rainforest and more. She wasn’t kidding. That’s me and Mike hiking the rain forest and getting a great view of the volcano.
I love hiking, though it’s something I rarely do. In fact, I really only find myself doing it when I travel. I’ve hiked in Ireland, in Kentucky, in Costa Rica, but I’ve never set out in Massachusetts, where I know there are plenty of great places.
Do you like hiking? What are some of your most adventurous travel experiences?

Awesome pic! I loved how Arenal erputed every night, amazing!!! Sadly, it was always raining during the day so we didn’t get to hike it. I love hiking when I travel, though I don’t often have time for it. My adventures are usually water related.
Hiking is a favorite hobby for me. I hike when I’m on vacation, but also close to home. It helps that I live in the Pacific Northwest. I have even backpacked with my son’s Boy Scout troop for over 50 miles in 5 days. It was fabulous. Nothing like nature as your home for the night.
Lookslike the mountainous area over here in Java Island, Indonesia. A lot of people love hiking there as well
pretty!

I love Costa Rica. Now that they are promoting ecotourism, the excursions offered are absolutely amazing! I will hike anywhere, from Michigan to Ireland. Don’t really care, though Oahu and Maui are two of my favorites for sure.
