when you walk…

…you have the opportunity to come across new sights that you never knew existed, even if you’ve driven by them a hundred times. I spent most of last Saturday on foot, completing wedding errands, getting a manicure with my friend Shannon, and grabbing a weather-appropriate iced coffee.

While I walked I noticed a tiny public garden on a main road – people were strolling through it, enjoying the day. The sight of the garden literally stopped me in my tracks. But I wasn’t shocked because there was a garden, I was shocked I had never noticed it before.

When you walk, you also come across those everyday sights, the ones so recognizable they are often referred to as “famous.” And when you take the chance to look closely, you see themĀ  from a whole new perspective and get a greater sense of appreciation.

Boston famous citgo sign

When I looked up and saw the famous Citgo sign on a beautiful day while watching the Boston Marathon last week, I was immediately reminded of why I love Boston.

Have you started walking more now that it’s finally Spring? Any new sightings?
