zumba

I have heard great things about Zumba (Peter, I’m looking at you). So every Tuesday I rush to make it to a class at my gym that begins at 7:30, but the class is so popular that by the time I get there it’s already filled to capacity. Tonight, I finally made it and I am so glad I did.

Zumba is a program that combines Latin and international music with dance. It’s like salsa, hip hop, and pretty much anything else you can think of, combined. Tonight, as our instructor reminded us that Zumba is an international dance, she proceeded to throw in some Bollywood, which I’m slightly familiar with thanks to Exercise TV.

Here is a video that kind of portrays what I experienced tonight.

As you can imagine, I left the class drenched, beet red and my legs felt like jelly. They still do actually. Best of all, the class was incredibly fun. I am in the worst shape of my life and that was apparent, but I was having so much fun that it didn’t even matter.

Have you ever tried Zumba?
