Archbishop Oscar Romero

Last week the martyrdom of Archbishop Romero, who was assassinated while celebrating Mass on March 24th, 1980, was commemorated for the very first time. Archbishop Romero will always be remembered for his commitment to the struggle for human rights and social justice.

Having gone to a Jesuit University that teaches the values for which Archbishop Romero stood, I have always felt a special connection to his life. In college, I never would have dreamed I’d have the chance to see the remnants of his work…
