I didn’t start watching Sex and The City until the very last season in 2004, when my friends and roommates in Ireland stayed in one night a week to watch the show wrap up. I liked it so much that when I came home I started watching it from scratch and caught up with every single episode pretty quickly.
On one of the DVDs for the last season I caught an interview with the cast and crew. As they discussed the city’s role in the show, one of the members stated that, in a way, New York is an actual character – just like Carrie or Charlotte.
That fact is part of what makes the show great to me. Whether you’re the kind of person that finds it irresistibly smart and funny or you’re the kind of person that just finds it too unrealistic, it can’t be denied that Sex and the City does an incredible job of capturing New York in a way that makes the viewer yearn to go – Sex and the City truly inspires travel.

So, when On Location Tours contacted me to let me know about their SATC2 Opening Night Movie Package, I was ecstatic – mostly because they also told me I could give away two tickets to their daily, public Sex and the City Hotspots Tour (an $84 value) to one lucky reader!
The best part is, if you’re not from New York but do plan to go one day, these tickets will NEVER EXPIRE, so you don’t have to worry about gambling your chance away. Also, if you aren’t an SATC fan, you can choose any tour from On Location Tours if you win.
SATC Tour highlights include…
- Shop at the store where Charlotte bought her “Rabbit”
- Stop at “Scout,” the bar owned by Aidan
- Enjoy cupcakes like Carrie and Miranda
- Go on location to the art gallery in SoHo where Charlotte worked
- Shop at the hottest boutiques & stores in Greenwich Village
- Visit Biddakan, the site of Carrie and Big’s wedding rehearsal dinner (in the movie)
- See new locations from Sex and the City (the movie)
To enter…
- Leave a comment below letting me know the location of your favorite SATC scene or simply your favorite (or desired, if you haven’t been) NYC location for one entry
- Leave a comment informing me that you’ve tweeted about the giveaway @susanforshner & @onlocationtours for a second entry
- Leave a comment informing me that you linked to this giveaway on your own blog (please include link) to receive a third entry
I will select a winner using Random.org and will make the announcement no later than Tuesday, March 23rd, so all entries must be in by Sunday, March 21st at 11:59am EST. Please make sure you include your email address in your comment.
Good luck!

Oooo, Susan! How fun!!
I’d have to say that my favorite SATC location is Carrie’s apartment. I freaking loved her studio. And her closet, of course.
I never really watched SATC (crazy, right?). But, my favorite NYC location has to be Prospect Park.
My favorite location is Buddaken. It is a gorgeous space and the drinks are yummy there too!
FUN! My favorite episode by far is when Carrie and Aidan break up after the black & white ball in front of the Columbus Circle fountain. It was so pretty.
She treated him horribly, btw!

Just thinking about what could be my favorite scene has got me wanting to bust out the dusty DVDs and catch up with my ladies! My favorite part is when Steve and Miranda said ‘you’re the one’ at Brady’s Bday party in the laundry room. loved it. Will blog about this later!
I love all of NYC! Haha. But seriously, anywhere that has cupcakes is A-OK by me, and Magnolia is no different. YUM.
tweet’em and weep

Ugh, this is the most difficult decision! i’d have to say when carrie and big fell in the water at tavern on the green or miranda’s outdoor wedding. gorgeous little garden! (also watched the end of season 6 yesterday and i’m ready to start at the beginning again!)
Fun! I’ve done the NYC movie tour but never the SATC-specific one. It’s cliche, but when I lived in NYC, I lived around the corner from Magnolia Bakery (which was only made famous by SATC) and I got cupcakes from there at least once a week!
Oooh this is so hard. I don’t know what the episode was called but in keeping with your theme above, I love love the episode where the sailors come to down and Carrie realises that New York could be her one true love and it ends on the line:
“If Louis was right, and you only get one great love, then New York may just be mine…and I can’t have nobody talkin’ sh*t about my boyfriend.” Have tweeted on @alidonnelly x
Wow, amazing! One of my favorite episodes is “Ex and the City,” when Big tells Carrie that he’s engaged…I love the end of the episode where Carrie quotes “The Way We Were,” (one of my favorite movies!) at the engagement party at the Plaza Hotel.
Your girl is lovely, Hubbell…
i love SATC and i LOVE new york. i’d like to visit buddakan

this is amazing. I would love to visit the strand bookstore because I LOVE to read and ellis island.
I want it!
loooove satc! my favorite scene is the final one, i feel it was the perfect ending of the show, and my favorite quote –
“Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous”
favorite place in the city.. would be bethesda fountain in central park! and i’m excited i’m headed into the the city this weekend to see riverdance! eeeee!

OMG! OMG! I’m estatic! My favorite place is the museum that Carrie has dinner with Petrovsky’s ex-wife in Paris. But since you are looking for NYC, I love the club where they had the beds – it was over the top! I love Mr. Big’s place and Carri’s closet!
I updated my post on shoes today to add this contest! http://www.misadventureswithandi.com/2010/03/shoes-of-prey.html
Don’t know why it duped on my last comment, but you can delete that one, here is my Tweet!

I LOVE SATC!!! I love how the girls get together for lunch every day and shoot the breeze… i wish i had the time to do that! so, i’d say thats my favorite location…. the restaurant we see almost every episode….

This is too, too much. Be still my SATC-loving heart! One of my favorite moments was the final scene of season 3, in which the girls are having a rooftop BBQ with their “friendly neighborhood trannies.” It always reminds me of my own New York rooftop when I was young, broke and just trying to make it in the big city. While life has brought me home to Portland (Oregon), a fair piece of my heart will always belong to glorious New York and the many magical moments that it provided…pre-op transexuals included.
I liked the dive bar where the gals when after Carrie got broken up with on a post-it note and then she smoked a marijuana cigarette. That dive bar is more NYC night life to me than the place with the beds etcc.
Yeah. I tweeted that. http://twitter.com/BryceMattie
Is it too corny to say the Brooklyn bridge? I know it’s from the movie, but that part with miranda and steve gets me every time!!
