Yesterday afternoon was meant to be productive for me. I got up early, did pilates, made iced coffee, grabbed breakfast and even went to Design Hive, all before noon. As I sat down to a turkey sandwich for lunch, which I was going to eat over some overdue blogging, my plans immediately shifted when I received the text of a lifetime.
And when I say text of a lifetime I mean, it was enough to make me put my half finished sandwich into the fridge, hop into my car and make my way to the streets of Brookline, even though there was a Red Sox game and the Jimmy Fund Walk causing an overcrowded Beacon Street. Don’t worry, I found a spot after a few circles and walked my heart out from my car all the way to the bar – it seemed like a hundred blocks. So, what was this text, you ask?
“Sweet Dee and Mac are sitting behind us, GET HERE NOW,” is how I think it went.
You may remember that about a year ago, I spent some time with the local Eagles Fan Club in the back of An Tua Nua in Brookline. During football season, Philadelphia transplants gather every Sunday and the room becomes a sea of Eagles jerseys and magical beer specials that, under ordinary circumstances, wouldn’t exist in Boston – but when you’re in Eagles Country – they do.
When I arrived, I found myself sitting next to part of the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – pretty much the funniest show on earth….

Can you even believe it? Rob and Kaitlin are the nicest people. Even though we were a few of many that asked to get a picture with them, they graciously accepted as if we were the only ones. After taking the pic, Kaitlin asked us our names, Lisa and Rob discussed Philly and they even waved goodbye to us on their way out.
The cast is in town for their sold out performance of “Night Man Cometh” which will be playing in many other cities across the country in the coming weeks. And, the new season will start again on September 17th on FX. If you don’t already watch it, I think it’s time that you start.
