In the heart of Union Square in Somerville, MA each Saturday, you will find local farmers, bakers and even live acoustic music, all gathered under a handful of canopies participating in the Union Square Farmers Market. Here, you will also find a wide range of fresh produce, herbs, the delicious Taza Chocolate and even homemade baked goods!

My friend Lisa introduced it to me this weekend.

I bought fresh basil, that had just been pulled out of the ground, from Drumlin farm – a working farm which also happens to be a wildlife sanctuary.

And, from Fiore di Nonno I bought mozzarella that had just been handmade that morning.

That night, Mike and I put both ingredients to good use and made a margherita pizza. The mozzarella was unbelievable and the basil was so fresh that the aroma filled our kitchen.

I see myself becoming a regular.
