My kitchen cabinets do not look like Martha Stewart’s. They are filled with hand-me-down plates and bowls, cheap wine glasses from Bed Bath & Beyond and random mugs, wine glasses and cups. Last night I realized that my eclectic collection paints a picture of different places and every time I pour a beverage, I am reminded of those places in one way or another…
Surprisingly, the wine glass that was included in the Wine Edventures tour that Mike and I did in Santa Barbara, made it through a day of tasting, the rest of the trip and then back home to Boston.

This mug is not from San Francisco but Anchor Steam will always remind me of my trip there.

I bought this Starbucks mug for Mike my senior year of college before returning to Boston. I miss Philly every time I use it.

And Guinness, this needs no explanation…

My cousins gave Mike and I a mug of our own from Cape Cod, Massachusetts when we house sat for them while they vacationed there.

Do you have a collection of mugs or glasses that mark your travel experiences?

I coincidentally began writing this post when I received an email from Travel Expert(a) inviting us (yes, you my lovely readers and me) to join a new meme that is cohosted with Lifecruiser Travel Blog called: Drinks ‘Round the World. I will be participating on June 1st, more details can be found here or here.

I have an entire collection of Guinness glasses and LOVE them. But I’m not much a fan of the beer, honestly.

I have a lot of eclectic things in my kitchen cabinets, as well. Most of my favorites, though, come from Italy. A coffee cup from Florence, a plate and bowl with my town’s pattern on it, etc. I love how using them brings back wonderful memories.

Dave and I collect glasses from bars that we’ve “taken”.
My fave is actually from Boston from the Sunset Grill, and it says “Lame Stolen Bar Glass” on it. LOVE IT!!

That is cool! I have a large collection of stolen Beamish/Guinness/Murphy’s/Kopperberg glasses from my time in Ireland. But other than that not many, but that is a cool idea!

I used to have a great collection of shot glasses from my travels, but now that I’m actually moving around a lot, they have gotten less and less:(

What a great collection! I don’t have any collection, just Whisky glasses from one of Scotlands smallest Whisky destilleries: Edradour. A whole set, but unfortunately we have damaged several of them…

Nice collection!
We do collect the Starbuck city collection coffee mug.
But we made up a rule that we only buy a mug from foreign country and the city that we live in. Otherwise, we won’t have enough space to keep it all.
