This weekend Mike and I attended a barbecue at his grandparents house. They own a farm that has cows, a horse, chickens and even the occasional turkey that wanders in when it feels like it. They also have barn cats, one of which, recently had kittens and the sight of them made me want to turn into a cat person.
We aren’t allowed to have dogs in our apartment and we aren’t home enough to justify getting one, so a cat makes the most sense. We would even be able to go away on the weekends without having to worry too much. And, because Mike is a cat person, I figure I will have to become tolerable at some point- it would be cruel to deprive him of them for the rest of his life.
These guys helped me come around…

We aren’t sure which one we will take or even if we will take two- some say it is nice for them to keep each other company others say they are independent enough on their own. In the end, it will all come down to budgeting.
We won’t pick out the kittens until we visit them one more time, but these guys were our favorites. What do you think?

Yayyyyy!!! Hurrah!!!
OMG!!!!! Love at first sight. I like the black and white one (reminds me of Sir Rhett Belmont) and the one looking like he is going to pounce. So sassy. My vote is to get two. They will grow up with each other, play, and be best friends. And you won’t feel bad when you leave them to go on about your day.
I don’t even like cats but damn! Are they cute or what?
I vote for the blue eyed calico at the end. Looks shy and sweet too. My husband was a dog person and we had the same argument, just in reverse. He never thought he’d like cats and now he loves our little kitty and the worst part is she like him better too. grr, she was supposed to be my pet.
