my sunday was irish

It all began with brunch at the Druid, one of Boston’s most authentic Irish pubs, in my opinion. Mike and I decided to try their Irish Breakfast, which includes sausage, ham, white and black pudding, eggs, potatoes, beans and a tomato.

In between episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and a nap, we finished up some leftover shepherd’s pie, a meal that my mom made quite frequently when I was younger and one that I have recently mastered, with the help of her instructions over the phone.

Later on we headed over to the Burren in Davis Square, another favorite Irish pub of mine, for some comedy put on by bad habit productions, which included a performance by the talented Three Hole Punch.

Finally, my night was capped off with a throwback. As I caught up with my favorite blogs in my reader, I learned from Erin of And Her Heart is in Ireland that Beamish, a stout made down the road from where I lived in Cork, is actually sold in the U.S.

I thought that was pretty cool.
