I can be impulsive. The other day when I got an email from Verizon saying I could upgrade my phone early, I searched for the closest store and got a BlackBerry Curve – I love it.

And yes, I got a pink one. This, by the way is really unlike me. You’re reading the blog of a former tomboy but like I said, I’m impulsive and I thought it looked nicer than the silver.
To be honest, for a long while I’ve been longing for an iPhone, but at the end of the day it wasn’t worth switching carriers and despite the elusive rumors that Verizon could be taking on the iPhone, I couldn’t wait any longer.
I have had it for a few days and it has already come in handy.
On Saturday night, Bryce and I went out to eat with Lisa and her family who was visiting from New Jersey. After wondering the address of Tommy Doyles in Kendall Square so that we could relay it to a cab driver, since it was a good place to grab a drink near their hotel, Lisa reminded me that I could find out the address quite easily, with my BlackBerry – and I did!
I have been scouring the new BlackBerry App World for free applications and so far BlackBerry Maps has been the most useful for me. The application allows you to find businesses, restaurants or whatever you need by entering addresses and viewing their locations on maps. It can also show you a visual route and step-by-step instructions to help you get to where you want to go.

I can’t promise that this will be my last BlackBerry post. BlackBerry App World has an entire category dedicated to travel, filled with applications that I am anxious to try.
Do you have any favorites?

Man I wish Sprint would offer me a free upgrade. Instead I had to beg them and threaten to leave to another company until they gave me one.

Glad you’re enjoying your new curve, Susan! We’re using Twitterberry to keep up on conversations when we’re away from the office. Have fun and keep sharing your new finds!
I have pink curve also – I LOVE IT! I heavily debated getting it in pink – because, I’m 25, do I need a pink phone? But I decidedL ABSOLUTELY.

I’m still torn between an iPhone and a BlackBerry… incidentally, I’m based in Jakarta currently, and a lot of my friends are urging me to opt for the BlackBerry for ease of communication.. Apparently BlackBerry users can chat with each other free through BB Talk.. But the iPhone is oh so sleekkkkkkkk … argh……
what a gorgeous phone!!!!! I am sooooo contemplating in getting one of those when I get to the States. Here you can’t even consider buying it because it costs like 3x more than in the states because of the stupid taxes. But once I move to guatemala, there’s wireless everywhere which will also help with the internet connection for the phones.
We are so behind here:)
