design hive, revisited

I am officially a regular each month at Design Hive, the independent designer’s market in Cambridge. A couple of Saturdays ago, it was as busy as usual and we even came across some new vendors.

The Stella Marie Soap Company had a display that made me hungry…

Can you believe that those mini soap cupcakes are actually soap?

Of course, my favorite part of Design Hive is the jewelry. You may remember that I don’t like fancy jewelry, but I do like the original stuff that is created by local designers and is most of all, affordable.

From Elizabeth Brennick Designs I purchased a necklace that garnered more complements that I have ever received for something that I can only take credit for purchasing.

Those beautiful flowers are linked onto a simple chain and when worn around your neck, the necklace blends into your shirt, making it look like it is in fact part of the clothing.

I also got a cute yellow sunglass case from Elizabeth, that is so bright and happy looking it almost mocks me every time I step outside and realize that it is still pretty cold for April and Spring is taking its sweet time to arrive.

I also purchased a ring and a hair clip from Lucky Bird Studio.

The upcoming Design Hives will take place the first Sunday of every month: May 3rd, June 7th, September 13th, October 4th, November 1st and December 6th. For more information you can go to their web site or join their Facebook group.
