i’m not one to wear fancy jewelry

In fact, the thought of being adorned with an object that could have been plane ticket, makes me cringe. But to each her own….

I do wear jewelry and I like it even, I just don’t have anything that costs more than 30 dollars.

Recently, I have found myself on a quest to find some new jewelry, I am getting into rings. It all started with my trip to Design Hive. If you don’t recall, Design Hive is a New York-esque designer market for Bostonians founded by Valerie Fox. I bought a very pretty ring for about 5 dollars from a local artist and I got a beautiful candy wrapper bag as a gift for my sister which was very reasonable. Since this experience, my eyes glaze over the stuff I would normally purchase in Aldo Accessories and New York & Co. because it isn’t handmade or locally designed.

So when Spring peaked it’s head in for the weekend, I decided it was finally time to walk over to Boutique Fabulous, owned by New York designer Mara Anka Kustra, in Inman Square – I had heard such great things about it.

I fell in love when I walked in the door.

Boutique Fabulous had me at the vintage bags of all colors, the antique plates with pretty patterns, the elegant stemware, adorable stationary and finally, the jewelry. The only thing keeping me from cleaning out the store was that I had to rush home because Mike and I were hosting his mom, her boyfriend and his brother for dinner.

I also had my eye on a tower of rainbow espresso mugs and when I return, I am buying them.
