the four seasons

Boston was beautiful this weekend. People walked the streets in flip flops, there wasn’t a jacket or coat in sight and we actually opened our windows to let in the fresh air.

This weekend I had a conversation with my friend Kim about how great it is to live in Boston when Spring is just around the corner. People pour out of their houses to enjoy the day and there is a smile on almost everyone’s face. Sometimes we even smile at each other with a friendly head nod – which is a pretty big step for a Bostonian.

When enduring the hardships of winter, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and when the first signs of Spring appear, we don’t take a minute of it for granted.

I like having four seasons because it enables me to appreciate a beautiful day, because I know what it’s like to be snowed in. And just when I get tired of the hot weather and humidity, fall comes creeping in just in time, with crisp air and the opportunity to buy new sweaters.

Unfortunately, the four seasons can be fickle. Today and tomorrow we expect snow and rain with a drop in temperature to 34 degrees – but at least the end is near.
