I am sure most of you have heard of The Best Job in the World, a new campaign Queensland is doing in Australia. If you haven’t, the job is being the caretaker of The Great Barrier Reef. You get to live in Australia, in a baller house, travel the islands, blog about it, do some dirty work and then report to Tourism Queensland. To apply, just create a video, fill out an application and submit.

In other dream job news, thanks to a tip from Camels & Chocolates, Spain wants you to live there, for free! The Department of Education of the Regional Government of Castile-Leon is inviting native English speakers to work as teachers to pre-schoolers and elementary school students. VaughanTown is recruiting retired teachers or volunteers who are simply fun, good with kids and will instill a strong sense of the English language in the students. Unfortunately, you don’t get paid, but they cover all of your expenses.

I read about the job in Queensland immediately after getting back from Australia, and instantly wanted to apply! Sadly, I already have a job for the next two years that’s kind of binding…otherwise, I’d totally be in! hah
It’s a great campaign for Tourism Queensland. Craig Martin of Indie Travel Podcast has written about it both on his site, and some background on the competition over at mine, here: Why advertise the best job in the world?. Makes for interesting reading.
I agree, a great campaign that is getting a lot of attention, which can only be good for Queensland, right? I’ll be interested to see who wins this.
did you really write ‘baller’ house?

It’s really an informative slice, Susan. Thanks for the ideas you have asked your reader to do in Australia.
