It won’t just be the freezing cold weather that will kept me hibernating in my little apartment this winter – it’s a tight budget. If you read my blog regularly at all and if you are from Boston, I am willing to bet that we are in the same boat. So before we cave into the urge to stay in and do nothing for the rest of the winter, we can be somewhat motivated by Boston.com’s 25 things to do in Boston for under $25. Here are my favorite- I even added my own twist…

2. Wine and Cheese Wednesdays: Every Wednesday through May, Vinalia on 34 Summer Street is offering a free sampling of two to three selected wines from the restaurant’s list, as well as an assortment of gourmet cheeses and fruits. A wine connoisseur will also be on hand to answer any questions you might have, from pairing to regional information. This is a great opportunity for me to tackle resolution #9.

15. Enjoy Boston Restaurant Week: Which will take place March 15-20 & 22-27. Mike and I have taken advantage of this before. My tip is to go during lunch because it is even cheaper, but you still get to try out a three course meal.

17. Comedy buffs unite: Boston.com recommended that we go see the Naked Comedy Showcase at ImprovBoston, but that was back on January 7th. So I am going to do a little improv move myself and recommend that you take the opportunity to to see Three Hole Punch, a four woman long form improv and sketch comedy troupe currently based in the Boston area. They are performing every Wednesday night in January at ImprovBoston, at 8pm. It’s $10, and you can purchase tickets here. They are absolutely hilarious!
Three Hole Punch is: Liz Caradonna, Stephanie Jones, Shannon Connolly*, and Misch Whitaker.
*Full disclosure – Shannon is one of my best friend’s so maybe I am bias, but they are still very funny.

Great ideas! I finally hit up Dantes in Cambridge for lunch during restaurant week last year, totally worth the $20!! Plus its cheaper since you aren’t drinking
