I've been to Antigua twice, and I certainly don't agree with Camels & Chocolate.
Okay, in a day or two you've seen most of the town, but then you can still visit the three volcanoes in the neighbourhood.
And Antigua is one of the best places I know for plain hanging out. Spending a whole afternoon on a bench in Parqué Central, having small talk with the people and watching life pass by.

If you enjoy natural history, beautiful scenery and a different
destination for travel than you will love Antigua.

Oh my goodness! It looks like you had a fabulous time! I cannot even imagine, and I know it had to be even more gorgeous in real life. (I've found that sometimes, cameras cannot capture the beauty of a place as well as just being there.)

I love the photo of the candles! So colorful!

E.P.s last blog post..<a href="http://stylishhandwriting.com/?p=632" rel="nofollow">A friendly reminder…</a>

those wax puppets will haunt my dreams, just too reminiscent of clowns,. but i guess that means they are good photos. your "trendy" sunglasses--watch out guatamala, diva comin' though!

ok, on less cynical and biting notes--the pics are awesome. can't wait to see the other guatamala pics. what's the mac completing, like one upload a day or so? should be able to check them out by st. patrick's day!

I love the photo of the puppets!

This story reminds me of a photo taken in Antigua Guatemala that got an honorable mention in the 2008 National Geographic International Photo Contest. It's the fourth photo in this photo gallery:
http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/photo-contest/2008-winners?startgallery=1
It's a street scene in Antigua Guatemala showing a tomato red wall covered in yellow, blue and orange sticky notes, and on each note is the same message: "Te amo, Cristina." Take a look.

We went to Antigua, too! Cute town, only not much to do--we accounted for three days there, then left the morning after we arrived out of boredom!
