Three people drove to Philly together last Friday with three different comfort routes.
Jenny likes to take 95 through the George Washington Bridge, I like the Tappan Zee Bridge to the Garden State Parkway and Mike likes to hit up route 1 in Jersey after 287 and onto 95.
Since Jenny has a Garmin, and Hartford wasn’t giving us as much trouble as it usually does, we decided to see if it could give us a fourth route from Boston to Philadelphia. While it was a brilliant gadget for Mike and I to borrow while apartment hunting, it couldn’t seem to handle Jersey. Luckily I accidentally fell asleep for most of the confusion and woke up on route 30 in South Jersey right before we found our way over the river into Philly.
I have a love/hate relationship with the Garmin – so I don’t know if I will put a GPS on my wish list in the near future. But, on Wired’s Gadget Lab blog, Priya Ganapati posted some good news if you are in the market – Black Friday Brings GPS Deals for Under $100.
TomTom is currently offering its ONE 125 GPS model for $100 until Nov. 30. And, Garmin will have its nuvi 200 product available for $97 at Wal-Mart on Black Friday only, according to Dealnews.

I’ve used TomTom, Garmin, and Magellan GPS units and would highly recommend anything by TomTom. Garmin is a close second, but I found that the timing of their turn-by-turn directions are off just a little, so I frequently passed a turn that I was supposed to take because it notified me too late.
my sister went to school in philly and my favorite bridge quickly became the tappan zee!
i called it the tappan weeeeeeeeee.
alexas last blog post..mess, party of one.
I don’t have a GPS thing (much to my boss’s dismay — I call him whenever I get lost on assignment!), but since I got my iPhone, finding places has become a lot easier since it has a little GPS system built in.
