Tucked way in the back of An Tua Nua in Boston each Sunday, in a private room during Football Season, a group of Philadelphia Eagles fans gather. Adorned with Eagles jerseys, eating appetizers and drinking $2 Coors Lite, wishing it was Yeungling, their eyes are glued to the large screen displaying the game.
If you are not from Philadelphia, you automatically feel the need to tip toe and be discreet as possible upon entering the room so no one notices that you are not one of them.
My friends have been in this group for a long time and last Sunday, they invited me to partake. It was the most organized and impressive gatherings I have seen in a long time. Philly and South Jersey accents filled the room and I felt like I was back in college again – and I was the one with the funny accent. When the Eagles had a good play, of which there were few that particular game, the organizer lead the group in the Philadelphia Eagles Fight Song. I looked down like when I am in Church and don’t want the priest to see that I am in fact, not singing.
If you are a Philadelphia transplant here in Boston – you definitely have a home here in Eagles Country…

On that note – I am off to Philadelphia this weekend with Mike and my sister Jenny for my second pot luck Thanksgiving dinner. I am so excited.

How fun! I love places like that, where you automatically feel at home. I know there’s an LSU bar in Dallas. When I go there, I’m hitting it up!
E.P.s last blog post..Dear drama pertaining to next week,
My roommate was just telling me about the Eagles craze at An Tua Nua! So rare to find places that are good for watching non-Boston sports here in Boston. When my sis first moved here from Chicago, she asked me where the “Cubs bars” were. Uhhh nowhere?
