Build Boston and Greenbuild are are going on this week and between Mike attending Build Boston and my attempt to get in touch with the media a client attending Greenbuild, I thought I would dedicate this week’s roundup to, you guessed it, architecture.
The focus of architecture stretched beyond these conferences this week, when a pretty viral list got a lot of attention.
- VirtualTourist.com ranked the “World’s Top 10 Ugliest Buildings”
- Their list got picked up by Reuters
- And Boston.com
It turns out, they do not like Boston’s City Hall, as it made #1 on the list.

- Steve Garfield agrees with them
- And so does Edward Mason at the Boston Herald
- And so does Michael Corcoran at Blast Magazine
- However, Mike at Architectural Fallout, yes my Mike, has a different opinion
But, Boston and the Virtual Tourist are not the only ones talking about architecture.
- Dominique at Midwest Guest tells us his experience visiting the Fisher Building in Detroit
- Earlier this month, Michael Yessis at World Hum gave us insight into U2’s plans for a Norman Foster-designed building, a planned 36-story tower on the banks of the River Liffey. It would be the tallest building in Ireland
- Karen Bryan at Tips from the T-List wrote about the great sites in St. Andrews, Scotland including Andrews Castle and Cathedral
- Dan Gould of Jaunted – back in September – wrote about the Open House London, an annual event where private buildings and houses are opened up for the architecturally curious to explore

Congrats on being on Boston.com yesterday! Did you get a traffic spike?
