After much research and multiple reviews, I bought my first digital camera.
A Nikon Coolpix S550.
I wanted it because it has 5x optical zoom and doesn’t seem too complicated. I actually don’t have it yet because they had to back order it, but as soon as I do I will be posting pictures that I took with my own camera, not with Mike’s and not with my phone.
Ooh, report back and let us know how you like it — I seem to go through digital cameras like many people go through socks =) I used to use a Coolpix, but currently I’m loving a Canon Elph SD850 (it could change next month, though — you never know!).

I recently got this in red and I LOVE it!!!! I’m not a camera expert or anything, but I don’t really have any complaints about it!
I love it too. So far everyone who has seen it has been pretty impressed. My favorite part is the 5x optical zoom – no complaints so far.
