Yeah I saw where the Tanner’s lived…just kidding. But I did take a picture of the “Painted Ladies” at Alamo Square. But before that we walked around Haight-Ashbury.
The beat movement made it’s debut on the west coast in Haight-Ashbury during the time that Allen Ginsberg moved to San Francisco in the 50’s. Today it is known for ushering the hippie culture of the 60’s. As we walked through over a week ago, we walked in and out of hip vintage clothing shops, a pub and passed a number of coffee shops–to be honest it reminded me of South Street in Philly.
